Η ιστορική Δημοτική Χορωδία Τρικάλων

«με μια ματιά»

Η Δημοτική Χορωδία Τρικάλων ιδρύθηκε το 1976 και σήμερα εντάσσεται στο Tμήμα Πολιτισμού, της Διεύθυνσης Παιδείας-Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού του Δήμου Τρικκαίων. Είναι μικτή, a capella χορωδία. Έχει λάβει μέρος σε αρκετές χορωδιακές συναντήσεις, φεστιβάλ και διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς, τόσο στο εσωτερικό, όσο και το εξωτερικό. Επίσης έχει οργανώσει στην πόλη των Τρικάλων 11 Πανελλήνιες Χορωδιακές Συναντήσεις ενώ κάθε χρόνο συμμετέχει στις εκδηλώσεις του Μύλου των Ξωτικών με Χριστουγεννιάτικες Συναυλίες και τη συμμετοχή πολλών χορωδιών.

Αξιοσημείωτα στιγμιότυπα από την πορεία της Δημοτικής Χορωδίας Τρικάλων αποτελούν η συνεργασία με τον διεθνούς φήμης μπάσο Δημήτρη Καβράκο και την Αθηναϊκή Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Νέων, στα Τρίκαλα το 2002, η συμμετοχή στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό “Festa Musicale”, στο Όλομουτς της Τσεχίας το 2003, όπου απέσπασε ασημένιο μετάλλιο και τη δεύτερη θέση ανάμεσα σε 173 συμμετέχουσες χορωδίες, καθώς και τιμητική διάκριση. Επίσης, η συμμετοχή της στο 10ο διεθνή διαγωνισμό Χορωδιών που έγινε στη Βουδαπέστη το 2005, όπου απέσπασε δύο χάλκινα μετάλλια στις κατηγορίες κλασική και φολκλόρ. Το 2012 συμμετείχε στην πρώτη εκτέλεση του έργου «Ο Μέγας Κάμπος» των Δεσποτίδη-Κούμπου, με την ορχήστρα της ΕΡΤ, υπό την διεύθυνση του Α. Πυλαρινού, ενώ το 2014 σε συναυλία στην Κωνσταντινούπολη με το έργο “Missa Greca II” του Δ. Παπαποστόλου υπό την ευλογία Της Α.Θ.Π. του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχη κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίου. Σημαντική είναι επίσης και η δισκογραφική εργασία της Χορωδίας στο έργο του Δ. Παπαποστόλου “Missa Greca II”, με συμμετοχή της ορχήστρας δωματίου “Pro Art”, και άλλων χορωδιακών συγκροτημάτων, σε κείμενο της Ελληνικής Ορθόδοξης Λειτουργίας. Το Μάιο του 2024, μετά από πρόσκληση της ελληνικής Πρεσβείας Τιράνων και του ελληνικού Γενικού Προξενείου Κορυτσάς, εκπροσώπησε την Ελλάδα στις εκδηλώσεις της Ελληνικής Εβδομάδας Πολιτισμού στην Αλβανία και συγκεκριμένα στο Αργυρόκαστρο.

Το ρεπερτόριο της Χορωδίας περιλαμβάνει έργα όλων των μουσικών εποχών, όπως μοτέτα της Αναγέννησης, έργα Κλασικών συνθετών, Ελληνικά Δημοτικά, Λαϊκά, και σύγχρονα τραγούδια και Εκκλησιαστική Μουσική. Παράλληλα, η Χορωδία είναι μέλος ελληνικών και ξένων Χορωδιακών οργανισμών: «Στέγη Χορωδιών», «Ένωση Χορωδιών Ελλάδος», “INTERKULTUR”, “International Federation for Choral Music”.

Την καλλιτεχνική διεύθυνση της χορωδίας, καθώς και της Παιδικής-Εφηβικής και της Δημοτικής Χορωδίας Δωματίου “Αρμονικές Φωνές – Voci Intonate” έχει η μαέστρος Ελένη Ζιάκα.

 

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

The Municipal Choir of Trikala was founded in 1976, in Trikala, Greece, as a mixed, a capella choir. It is administrated by the Department of Culture of the Head Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Trikala. For more than 50 years, it has participated in various choral meetings, festivals and international competitions, both in Greece and abroad. It has also organised and hosted in Trikala 11 National Choral Meetings, as well as each year it participates in the artistic program of “The Mill of Elves”, in Trikala, by organising the “Christmas Choral Festival” with a large participation of choirs throughout Greece.

Notable highlights of the choir’s history include its collaboration with the internationally renowned bass Dimitris Kavrakos and the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra in Trikala, in 2002. In 2003 the choir participated in the International Choir Competition “Festa Musicale” in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and won a silver medal and a second place among 173 participating choirs, as well as an honorary distinction. Moreover, the choir participated in the 10th International Choir Competition held in Budapest in 2005, where it won two bronze medals both at the classical and folklore categories. In 2012 it participated in the premiere of the music work “The Great Plain” by Despotidis – Koumpos, with the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by A. Pylarinos. In 2014 the choir gave a historic concert in Constantinople with the Greek sacred work “Missa Greca II” by D. Papapostolou, with the blessings of His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. “Missa Greca II”, composed to the text of the Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy, is also one of the significant choir recordings, along with the participation of the chamber orchestra “Pro Art” and other choral groups. In May 2024, after being invited by the Greek Embassy in Tirana and the Greek Consulate General in Korca, the choir represented Greece for the events of the Greek Culture Week in Gjirokastra, Albania.

The choir’s repertoire includes a wide range of music works representing different music eras, such as Renaissance motets, Classical composers’ works, Sacred Music, Greek Traditional songs, Folk and Contemporary Music. Moreover, the Municipal Choir of Trikala is a member of the following greek and international choral organisations: “Hellenic Choirs Association”, “Hellenic Choir Union”, “INTERKULTUR” and “International Federation for Choral Music”.

Mrs Helen Ziaka is the artistic director and conductor of the choir. She also conducts the Children & Teenagers’ choir, as well as the Municipal Chamber Choir of Trikala, named “Voci Intonate”.
